- Road reconstruction/maintenance in Moser and Bozeman Creek areas for pre-work on helicopter contract
- Closure of Sourdough Canyon/Bozeman Creek trail first week of October for road work/culvert installation
- Hauling out of remaining log decks in Moser area
- Helicopter logging may start mid-November on the east side of Bozeman Creek
- Additional closures of Sourdough Canyon/Bozeman Creek trail may be necessary in the next few months
November 2023
- Closure of Sourdough Canyon #454 and Leverich Canyon trails (#435/436) starts November 16th
- Tree felling and flying of timber near the City of Bozeman’s water intake structure
- Burning of debris piles (hand and mechanical) on both NFS lands in Moser and Leverich areas
- Burning of debris piles on City of Bozeman lands near Bozeman Creek
- Log trucks hauling on Nash road to 19th Ave
- Plan to harvest into December and potentially beyond if weather conditions allow
December 2023
- Sourdough Canyon trail reopens to the public
- Leverich Canyon trail reopens to the public
- Helicopter logging near Bozeman Creek
- Log trucks hauling on Nash road to 19th Ave
- Crews burning piles on NFS lands
- Harvest activities are complete for the season
- Harvest activities are planned to pick back up after spring breakup (June)
- Pile burning to continue throughout the winter as conditions allow
