Sourdough Trail open and city work wraps up for the year, work continues on Forest Service lands in Moser Creek

Good Afternoon,

This will likely be our last update for calendar year. We are excited to say that work on the city’s lands and impacts to the Sourdough Trail area are complete for now! The trail is also freshly bladed and looking great for all your winter uses.

Figure 1 The Sourdough Trail is open and blading and remediation has been complete for the winter.

What’s next on the City of Bozeman lands?
While work is done for the year, there is still more to be done in the area in 2022. Exact timing will be determined as we get closer to next summer, however folks should expect to see hand crew thinning and piling in the project area. Fortunately, these activities will have a much lower impact on our trail use and we expect the trail to remain open for all future phases of work.

Work continues on Forest Service lands
Crews remain hard at work on Custer Gallatin National Forest lands. Area users should expect to see logging and hauling on Moser Road and Hyalite Canyon Road starting next week. Just like with previous activities we encourage folks to stay alert, especially in areas where there is increased vehicle traffic.
